Better late than never
Math might not have been Grady Little's fav class at school, but even he gets round to put together numbers from time to time. One such occasion came up with the torrid all-around play of Jason Repko and "spectacular" hitting slump (3-for-39) from Jose Cruz jr. With the starting LF position up for grabs for the time being, our head coach is willing to cut Repko some slack:
Key phrase: "hard to ignore". I firmly believe coaches ought not to be ignorant about numbers their players put up offensively and defensively. At this point, Repko is better in every facet of the game, hands down. I expect regular (3 out of 4 games) LF job for Repko, unless pitcher-batter matchups indicate otherwise.
"This guy has been very productive every time we
put him in the game. "It's hard to ignore what he brings to the team.
We're going to start getting him in there a little bit more."
